Thanksgiving Hiatus

November 19, 2008 Leave a comment Go to comments

Emily will undergo knee surgery on Friday to fix the meniscus tear on her left knee. Specifically, the doctor will remove the broken cartilage. The other option is to repair the tear, but that involves up to six-months of recovery, which is not feasible with her photography and Esmé. The downside to removing the cartilage is that she will need a knee replacement in anywhere between 5-15 years. Plus, it will cause premature osteoarthritis. Because of Emily’s surgery, I am starting my vacation on Friday, instead of next Monday. And with me trying to tie-up loose ends at work before leaving and with the surgery, I am going to start this blog’s Thanksgiving hiatus right now. I am sure this saddens my legion of readers, but you will all somehow have to make do without my pithy and withering banter until December 1.

To cheer you up, I am posting this hilarious e-mail thread that one David Thorne posted on his website and made the internet rounds a few weeks ago. And if you enjoy the humour, you can check out this interview with the author.
