The Blog Conundrum

August 3, 2006

In order to keep myself “anonymous”, I must not promote the blog too much, lest the association between this blog and the Real Me becomes too obvious. But without promotion, then nobody will read the blog. And of course, why have a blog if nobody reads it? On the other hand, one could make the argument that a blog is akin to a diary, and is more for oneself, not for public consumption. In that case, does it matter how many readers a blog attracts?

A twist on the age old question then: “If a blog is written, and nobody reads it, does it really exists”?

Well, actually, that’s not entirely true. What you need to do is add your blog to the Ecosystem on truthlaidbear.com and to Technorati. Read other blogs, not just the ones you link to. Cite them and respond to their posts. Click on the link you have created to them to access their site. Use trackbacks. This will get people reading your blog and responding to you.
